Lakeview Biodiesel was started in late 2015 following the acquisition of the facility by Lakeview Energy. The plant's location in Moberly, Missouri was seen as an opportunity to develop a new sector of Lakeview Energy's operations as well a create a relationship with a great local community.

After many improvements were made to the facility, the plant commenced  production in the second quarter of 2016. Lakeview Biodiesel is currently capable of producing 10 million gallons (38 million liters) of biodiesel and 4,000 tons of glycerin annually.
